"...this insiring and touching book uses everyday events of wonder...and poignant times...to capture the moments a child can experience God. Illustrations by Higgins Bond of Nashville are absolutely gorgeous..." ---Women's National Book Association Newsletter |
Then I Think of GodGod is ultimately a mystery to children, as God is to us all, but in special intuitive moments, they know God as companion, as source of love and power, creator of all that is. In this book I have tried to evoke such moments in a child's life--the discovery of a nest of baby birds, the aura of a quiet moment in church, the anxiety of a playmate's serious illness, the danger of fire to an elderly friend, the wonder of a rainbow in your own backyard. I hope, too, that the book will help us as adults, to regain that recurrent sense of wonder which comes with such ease to children. As I was writing the book, images of the reality of God's presence in particular moments of a day tumbled all over one another. May it be so for you, as you share this book with a child. |
